Switching insurance and Dependent Care FSA

My spouse and I have been covered under his work health insurance since we got married 6 years ago. Insurance and the answer I seek

I am trying to select government insurance. I've just about given up on it. I have been sent to my doctors' billing dept (in her clinic) and then they send me back to the central billing dept (for the whole city) and then they send me back to my dr's office billing dept. One keeps sending me back to the other. This was the suggestion of the HealthCare.gov people. [more inside]

Should I get meta with my therapist?

I'm feeling really miffed by the way my (mostly wonderful) therapist of 4+ years has handled a recent situation of mine, and wondering if I should bring it up in our next session. Do consultants exist for evaluating health care plans for an individual?

I know there are companies that work for employers to evaluate the best health insurance options for their company, but I’m wondering if there’s anyone I, as an individual, could pay for someone knowledgeable to review the different offerings my employer provides, and what my family’s medical needs are, and help us understand our choices better? It’s a confusing process (to me, anyway!) and I would appreciate the peace of mind of having an expert help us make these decisions. Specific recommendations or any general guidance would be most appreciated.

Asking for a friend: dealing with water damage between condo units

My friend is the new President of a condo corporation in Toronto, Ontario (Canada). In the summer, one of the owners complained of water leaking into their unit from the apartment above. Contractors came and could not identify a source from the plumbing in the apartment but they did find and repair an issue with one of the window frames in the top unit that might have been allowing some water in. Since the window frames are part of the common elements, the condo paid for those repairs. Now, months later, the owner has come back to say that they want the condo corporation to pay for additional damage inside their unit. [more inside]
